What is Norfolk Insight?

  • A partnership resource for exploring key information, data and intelligence about Norfolk and its local communities.

  • At the heart of the website, is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, an overall analysis of the health and wellbeing needs of the people of Norfolk

  • A primary source of local information and intelligence; a centralised web-repository for neighbourhood statistics and indicators.

  • We use the InstantAtlas platform to provide local intelligence through highly visual and interactive graphical reports, maps and atlases.

What is Norfolk Insight's purpose?
  • To provide an evidence base for planning and monitoring core policies and strategies
  • To provide an evidence base for planning of services and targeting of resources
  • To provide a tool to assist with commissioning of services
  • To provide local intelligence about neighbourhoods and communities across Norfolk
What is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment?
  • It looks at simple issues such as how many people live in the County, their age and gender, and where they live.
  • It provides a picture of the health and wellbeing needs of people across the county, showing the range of needs and inequalities affecting them.
  • Provides information on services people already use and might need in the future, including a range of services aimed at improving healthy lifestyles.
  • Links to information on the wider determinants of health which provide the context in which health and wellbeing improvements will be made.
