Active Map

What is the Active Map?

The Active Map is an online, interactive mapping tool that supports partners in the needs led development of physical activity across the county. Using a wide variety of datasets covering areas such as sports participation, health, deprivation and population, the tool provides a visual platform for partners to cross reference high priority areas against the location of local facilities to ensure effective and efficient planning of activities.

By bringing the various measures into one place, the new toolkit makes gaps easier to identify, the information more accessible and easy to use for anyone with an interest in physical activity – commissioners and providers. This is a collaborative piece of work between Norfolk County Council's Information Management, Public Health and Active Norfolk departments. The data in the toolkit will be updated as and when new data becomes available.

The Active Map toolkit is available at two area levels, Middle Super Output Area (MSOA) and Lower Super Output Area (LSOA). Data is available at one or both of the Super Output Areas depending on the lowest granularity published at source. The toolkit allows you to drill up or down between the two geographies, exploring the full range of data.
